It began in Ottawa, in a pandemic
In 2020, as COVID closed the mosques, three Imams kept receiving the same request: brothers and sisters asking for help finding a spouse in a way that was dignified and Islamic — not a swipe, not a rumour, not a stranger's judgement.
So they started Ottawa Muslim Matrimonial: an Imam-led way to introduce Muslims to one another, with vetting, privacy, and accountability built in from the first conversation.
Word travelled far beyond Ottawa. Today that same service continues worldwide as Blessed Foundations, now supported by a network of 10+ Imams across Canada, serving the full diversity of the Muslim community.

Over 500 Nikahs officiated by the team since long before this service existed — a separate record from the matches we introduce today.
